A logotype designed by Kukuxumusu and made to celebrate the naming of Cadiz city as Spain -Latin-American culture capital for 2012 has been awarded the VI Premio Cortes de Cadiz 2012, in the category of graphic design. The award was announced today by Cadiz City Hall.
The logotype symbolizes a sea bird, an icon of liberty. The image is shown in a blue-colored tone, the perpetual color of Cadiz Bay and the open wings of the bird stand as a metaphor for the friendship between different peoples and the open welcome that the city has for all its visitors. "When it is daytime in Latin-America, in Europe it is nighttime and vice versa," explained from Kukuxumusu.
The jury who awarded the prize of 6.000 euro to the winner was made up of Alberto Pulido Begines (a director of the D-Tunk group); Ana Sánchez (fashion designer and the person responsible for Taller nº ocho), Raúl Gómez (designer and graphic creator), and with the chairman position being taken b
