1992 Everest Expedition Kukuxumusu
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first-ever conquest of The Everest, we made a screensaver which shows a landscape drawing made by Kukuxumusu of the highest mountain in the world. Download it for Windows, MacOS
Kukuxumusu keeps a corner of its creativity for the world of mountaineering, a enthusiasm that has accompanied the brand ever since its foundation. Ever since 1989 it has collaborated (making drawings and tee shirts) with more than one hundred expeditions.
Over the years, Kukuxumusu has collaborated with such well-known mountaineers as the Iñurrategi brothers, Juanito Oiarzabal, Ang Rita, Simone Moro, Edurne Pasaban or Sebastián Alvaro - as well as with the national TV program, RTVE "Al filo de lo Imposible" (‘On the edge of the impossible') -; and its drawings have reached the highest summits such as those of Gasherbrum II,The Nanga Parbat, The Cho Oyu, The K2 and, of course, The Everest.
Besides this kind of collaboration, Kukuxumusu has been close to mountaineering in other ways; along with Barrabés, it created some years ago a mini-collection of tee shirts which produced some, now mythical, among our fans such as "Escalador", "Campo Base," "Yetiyak" and with Reinhold Messner, the Italian mountaineer who reached the summit of The Everest in a solo climb and without using oxygen, Kukuxumusu created "Kalipe". It also created with the help of Edmund Hillary, the first man to conquer The Everest, a tee shirt design, "Lata Montaña". This design has a slogan from the climber which sums up to a large extent the attitude of Kukuxumusu to mountaineering: " The mountains are beautiful, protect them with all your heart."
